The Association for the Protection of Unborn Children – Agalia was founded in 1998. It is a non-profit charitable organization that—selflessly, lovingly and respectfully—provides moral and material support to married and single women, protecting their children both during the pregnancy and after their birth. The Association for the Protection of Unborn Children helps many women who are being pressured, socially or financially, to terminate their pregnancies or who are victims of abuse. It offers a protective embrace—an agalia—that enables them to carry their pregnancies to term and bring their children into this world, and it does so by offering its services free of charge and ensuring the right conditions for children to grow in healthy family environments, with both their mothers and fathers. As such, Agalia supports the institution of marriage and family and encourages childbearing, and it also contributes to raising public awareness on issues such as pregnancy, motherhood, human rights and demographics through seminars, lectures, workshops and the distribution of print and online materials.
