ELOT EN ISO 22000: 2005 Food Safety Management System
Production of paper and laminated paper packaging for use by the food industry as primary and secondary packaging
ISO 22000:2005 is an international standard that defines the requirements of a food safety management system. It was issues by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2005 and includes the HACCP principles, the requirements or current applicable legislation, and the general requirement of management systems, forming a comprehensive, internationally recognized food safety standard.
The standard concerns all organizations involved in the supply chain including organizations in the primary sector (animal husbandry, crop production) and the secondary sector (processing for the production of food and animal feed); organizations and companies that work in storage, distribution, wholesale and retail; and, as is the case for Koskinidis Packaging, organizations and companies that provide supporting services (e.g. suppliers of packaging materials, equipment, cleaning and sanitation products and pest control).
The most important benefits of ISO 22000:2005 for an organization are the documented compliance with the relevant national and European legislation, harmonization with commonly accepted food production practices, reduction of deviations and the detection of faulty practices, readiness for food crisis management, continuous quality improvement and a competitive advantage in the market.
