An individual’s right to data protection is enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the Treaty of Rome.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was adopted on April 27, 2016 with EU Regulation.
2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, which concerns the creation of a unified legislative framework to govern the processing of personal data in member states of the European Union. It replaced Directive 95/46/EC which had been incorporated into Greek legislation with Law 2472/1997. The GDPR, which came into effect on May 25, 2018, is binding in its entirety and is immediately applicable in every member state.
Recognizing the importance of safeguarding personal data, Koskinidis Packaging directly proceeded to amend its privacy policy which determines the way the company handles the personal information of its clients and partners. Furthermore, acknowledging the Regulation’s fundamental importance to the protection of personal data and committed to providing high quality services, the company appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
The personal data collected by Koskinidis Packaging relates to certain personal information of individuals visiting its website, including name, telephone number, email and IP address. This information is stored in the company’s databases for as long as they are needed to allow Koskinidis Packaging to provide its services while complying to applicable legislation. All data is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the current Privacy Policy.
Personal data is collected by the company in the course of communicating with the client to address a query, to the extent that this is necessary for purposes that fall under the company’s legal interests, and in order to monitor the proper operation of the company’s website.
Specifically, as concerns the website, the company uses cookies—which expire at the end of each session— to support certain functions, to count the number of unique visitors and the frequency of visits to the website, and to produce statistics on the website’s operation. This information is anonymous and is deleted after processing.
Finally, following the announcement of job openings, the company collects résumés that are voluntarily submitted by applicants. These résumés are kept on file until the job vacancy is filled and for a period of up to six months for the purpose of filling future vacancies, and are subsequently destroyed.
Koskinidis Packaging can share the personal data mentioned above with third parties, including contractors and service providers, professional consultants, as well as regulatory and governmental authorities.
Visitors to Koskinidis Packaging’s website have the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification and erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to object and the right to data portability as defined in articles 13 through 22 of the GDPR. Individuals under 18 years of age are only allowed access to the company’s website with the consent of a parent or guardian. Personal data of underage visitors is not kept.
Koskinidis Packaging’s personal data protection policy can be periodically modified to allow the company the ensure compliance with current legislation and potential changes to privacy practices. Each amendment will be announced and a copy of the latest version will always be available on the company’s website.
